On Ian's birthday we went up the Columbia River Gorge in mixed weather to do some short hikes, eat a nice lunch, and visit a museum. We started at Multnomah Falls, passed through Eagle Creek and Stevenson, WA, to end at the Columbia River Gorge Interpretive Center (very cool) before heading home. It was a drizzly day, but we managed to have fun! And Ian got to spend it with his two best girlfriends - Guita and me - so it was once again a bang-up birthday!
Multnomah Falls (upper and lower), the second highest free-fall waterfall in the US at about 620 feet. And Ian and Guita making it look tall!
Leaves floating in a pool in the notch of a tree partway up to Multnomah Falls.
Eagle Creek, Oregon. It's so pretty here!
The sky stayed pretty low all day, and we agreed that we turned around in a good place: it started raining in earnest right before we got back to the car! Like sensible people, we retreated to the Skamania Lodge and had good food!
